Nov. 25, 1856, Kohanga. My dear Sir, Your letter of Nov. 21 has just arrived. I will take immediate steps to get the chiefs together. I am writing to Mr. White to invite Awarahi and other chiefs of Ngatiteata. He speaks in his letter to me of going to Major Speedys to meet your party. The matter of food we will attend to. This wet weather will I presume detain your party but we shall be very happy to see you whenever you come I am, my dear Sir, Yours truly, Robert Maunsell.
