Oct. 1865 Dear McLean, Have you an answer about the Steamer -- keep her till night if you can. We shall have to go. I will be up in an hour or so and give you my news. Ministry is out and Stafford in -- Stafford holds the Govr.'s written promise to dissolve and it is said he, Stafford, will ask him to do so even without forming a proper ministry, which he cant do or an Appropriation Act. It is believed Weld's Govt. will return to power unless Stafford dissolves. In haste, Yrs. always, J.D. Ormond. If you keep the steamer till night we can prepare what has to be done well enough today. J.D.O. Send an answer by bearer about the steamer.
