Wiremu Te Wherro to Hon. Mr. McLean. Te Kohe Kohe. Sept. 23rd. 1870. Friend Mr. McLean, Salutations to you. I have received your letter of the 6th. inst. Sir, you are right in saying that through persons-constantly trying to see Manuwhiri, and speak to him, he is annoyed, and therefore does not give them straightforward answers. People are constantly going there, and bothering him. You will see that in his letters from Tiaho and Te Kuri, of which I enclose copies for your information. When you come to Auckland we will have a talk. That is all, Your friend (Signed) Wi Te Whero Te Morehu. To Hon. Mr. McLean.
