Off Thames Ap. 30th 1870 My dear Clarke In the event of Mr.McLean coming to see Tarapipipi it would be better that I should have a couple of days notice in order that I may send to him to come to Hauraki. The meeting in respect of the Telegraph should be held when the owners of the land can be got to confront those Hauhaus who appear to be trying to wrest from them the right to deal as they like with their own. A meeting is taking place today about Te Aroha I will inform you as to the result - Yours very truly E. W. Puckey I observe the claim to Omahu comes onfor hearing 3rd May it was adjourned at my request, with others, by instruction of Govt. it has not been surveyed.
