Translation. We, the Chiefs and People of Ngatiapa, whose names are attached to this paper, have received from Mr. McLean, the sum of Five Hundred Pounds (£500) of money, being the amount of the second payment in instalment due to us for all the lands which we truly consented to give up, or part with, as stated in the original Deed of Sale, to which we subscribed our names and marks at our large Public Meetings held at Whanganui on the fifteenth (15th) and Sixteenth (16th.) days of May in the year of Our Lord
