Defence Office, August 15th. 1865 Dear McLean, Atkinson has just been asking me about the landing the Troops at Napier. I have promised a steamer shall be there to do the work. Will you take care either that the St. Kilda is in the way when wanted or that the Dredge is available. The Brisk leaves here tomorrow for Taranaki and takes 300 men straight to Napier -- she will be there first. Two other steamers take the remainder. The Regt. is the 70th. This is the latest and the mail is just closing. Yours always, J.D. Ormond.
