Post Office, New Plymouth, 1st May, 1861. My dear Sir, You would be sorry to hear that the overland Mail to Wanganui that was forwarded when you were here, was stopped - I received the mail back yesterday - and fortunately the Wonga Wonga came in towards evening so I shall be able to forward your Despatches on to Wanganui this day or tomorrow morning. You see these fellows are not in the frame of mind for peace at present nor will they be I expect until they know how the Waikatos will act. I am, My dear Sir, Yours very faithfully, J.
