March 22nd./66. My dear Sir, I had not time to write by Frasers orderly who went by at full gallop - the Hau Haus are on their way down and I believe will be at Pakowai tomorrow. Will you kindly send me instruction regarding them. I have enclosed two documents to Kopu from te Waru and others for your perusal. I beg to congratulate you on your very easy victory over your friend Colenso. I quite wonder at your hard heartedness in oppsoing such an amiable man. Writes such nice letters too. What shall I do with the guns I have in my possession. Kopu also wanted me to take possession of a mare for you what shall I do with her. I am my dear Sir Truly yours, S. Deighton.
