"Whenua Kura" contains say 8000 acres title to which is settled. Every question of any importance in any district is settled and you have supposing you choose to return to Natives every acre beyond those that I have arranged for you have 18,000 acres at once for disposal upon which after deducting every cost of purchase, salaries, surveying and contingent expense a clear profit of 20,000£ will be realized as a profit on my operations. My work represents the final settlement of the Compensation Question - embraces nearly 200 seperate negotiations and has been performed at the rate of 3/8 an acres less than the amount of my authority - after using these 18,000 acres. You have really good available country over and above reserves etc - pretty well 30,000 acres to return to Natives if you choose. Surely this position must have been overlooked. Yours faithfully, George Worgan.
