Endowments were intended as such for the benefit of the natives as of the Europeans. and they are equally as well entitled to admission to that Institution as any of the inhabitants, and should receive the same care and treatment; but while disagreeing with the views adduced by Mr. Gillies, I see no objection as the practice has obtained, of making special contributions, or
