24 Jany. 1862 Crown Lands Commr. Wellington. Reserves at Terawiti Crown Lands Office, Wellingtoon. 24th Jany. 1862 Sir, I enclose tracings of certain Native Reserves at Terawiti which I was informed by the late Mr. McManaman and others had been purchased by you from the Natives; and referring to my former communications with you on the subject, in which you informed me that the information was to a great extent correct, and promised officially to hand them over (with a certain modification) to the Provincial Government for sale. I now beg to bring the matter under your particular notice. You will perceive that the adjoining land has been blocked up by purchase and it will be well probably to consolidate these European holdings, in the more immediate vicinity of the Town. I have the honor to be Sir, Your most obedient Servant William Fitzherbert Crown Lands Commisr.
