Duplicate Auckland 12th Jany., 1858 My dear McLean, The Governor started on Wednesday the 6th for the Bay and had a plesant passage of 26 hours. He is accompanied by Mr.Whitaker and Mr.Smith and John White. They appear to be engaged in koreros about the site of proposed new Town. The Governor had some idea of visiting Ahuriri in the Frigate afrer his return from the Bay looking at the present posture of affairs there, do you think such a visit expedient?
