Saturday 11 April 1868 My dear McLean I came down today expecting you per Ashley but I find she is not in yet and may not come till late -I suppose there is no chance of the Prince coming now -If only the Admiral would insist on his going home -Every thing has gone on quietly with us during your absence and although I have not had the pleasure of hearing from you all this time I trust you have enjoyed the holiday and will come home with renewed zest for work and stout health - Locke has long been very ill but is now slowly recovering - (Rheumatic fever) I leave behind me the boiling down papers for your perusal Yours always J. Rhodes
