Wanganui 16th. August 1849. Donald McLean Esq. Sir, We have to-day received a letter from Mr. Lyon informing us that your orders for £31--3--8, - £7--15--3 - and 19/4 are unpaid, in consequence of your not having forwarded the vouchers to the Audit Office; and that they cannot be paid until they are forwarded. Your attention to this will much oblige us, as our engagements are pressing just now. We are Sir, etc., etc., etc., (Signed) Baylor & Watt.
