Grahamstown. 5th. February 1870. Dear Sir, I just send you a line to say that there is nothing from Ohinemuri. Everything is quiet. Some mis-guided people have been sending more timber up towards Andrews'; but the natives would not allow it to stay, and cut the rafts adrift. Messengers are being sent to collect the people together for the Ohinemuri Meeting. Queen Natives anxious there should be no communication of any kind between Te Hira and Te Kooti. Te Hira's people most unmistakably evince sympathy with Te Kooti. Your obedient servant, (Signed) E.W. Puckey.
