Auckland July 13, 1859 My dear Maclean, The departure of the White Swan leaves me but a few minutes to acknowledge receipt of your last -- The £10,000 addl. you ask for is forthcoming -- but no more can be advanced out of the English Loan for Hawkes Bay. In your statement of payments for land at H. B. you seem to me to have omitted some payments, and have reckoned nothing for. Departmental Expre. which is heavy £3500 will not more than cover the cost from June 1856 till completion of what you now have in hand. I have no doubt Fitzgerald will strain every nerve to assist you to acquire the Ngaruroro. I am glad to see the Ngatarewa in your list. You give us such meagre information
