Clyde January 28th. 1869 Sir, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23rd. inst., and beg to thank you for the answer afforded in reference to the position held here by myself. It is perfectly in accordance with my understanding of, and wishes on the subject. The question was asked for the information of the commanding Officer rather than myself. I am glad that I am able to assist in any way, at any time, more especially at a period of public calamity like the present. I shall be happy at all times to afford the gentleman now in Command here, all the information and assistance in my power. I have the honor to remain Sir, Your most obedient servant (Signed) G.B. Worgan To:- His Honor D. Mclean Esq.
