Hone te One and Kewene tell me that Kopuera always speaks like this, and that we need take no notice of it. He means nothing. It was unfortunate that Tawhiao was not at Kawhia when you arrived there. Had he been there, I feel sure that you and he would have come to a satisfactory arrangement. He is very jealous of Tapihana and Kawhia people for having thrust themselves before him.
