At Wellington the native Secretary might charter the ''Wongawonga'' to proceed to Manawatu and Whanganui, and thence to Queen Charlotte's Sound; also obtaining one vessel or more to bring the whole party from Wellington to Manukau. Should the ''Victoria'' or any other Government Steamer be in Wellington, it may be a saving of expence to send part of the chiefs up in her. In the event of a large steamer not being available for this service the Wongawonga'' should also be chartered if necessary to come up to Manukau.
