Napier October 19/70 Dear McLean, I have just recollected the rent for the House was due on the 9th of this month and I pay today in to your account at the Union Bank £ being the rent less one or two small amounts I have paid for you as on other side. I have thought over what I will do in respect to going on with my official work and have come to the conclusion I ought to work on to the next session of the Assembly so as to do what I can to assist in starting the public works on but I cannot afford to keep up an establishment in Napier
