24 Jany 62. Crown Land Commr. Wellington Tahana's Grant. Tupurupuru Block No. 62/28 Crown Lands Office Wellington 24th Jany. 1862 Sir, I have spoken to His Honor The Superintendent respecting Te Tahana who has purchased a piece of 10/- land on the confines of the Te purupuru Block and about whom I spoke and wrote to you. The Superintendent has consented, under the circumstances, to pay the amount of the purchase money for the remainder, so that if you will fill up the accompanying form of application for it and get Te Tahana to sign it and then forward it to this office; a Crown Grant will in due time issue to him. In this as well as in every other way that is practicable effect will be given to your wishes so as to strengthen your hands as much as possible. Mr. Swainson will furnish all the particulars necessary for the proper filling up the form of application as to boundaries, acreage etc. I have the honor to be Sir, Your most obedt. Servt.
