Dear Sir, I am much obliged for the news contained in your letter; it is very interesting as showing the means by which they obtain their information. I have sent the St.Kilda to Poverty Bay, and have written to Hotini and Ropata asking them to remain at Wairoa until I hear from Major Biggs. I shall be glad if you will keep me informed of what is going on in your district and in your next letter I should like to hear whether the potatoes were delivered to Ihaka Whanga and Paura Apatu, and the flour, sugar tea and parcel were given to Kopus widow - I remain, Yours very truly, Edward L.Green S. Deighton Esqre. Resdt. Magistrate Wairoa
