July 1869. , as given by two eye-witnesses who had both conversed with him at Tokangamutu:- About sixty-nine to seventy inches high; hair dark, wavy, parted in the middle; slightly hooked nose; complexion clear, but dark; no tattooing on face; whiskers thin; long black beard and moustache; is considered good-looking; is stout in bodily appearance; stoops slightly when walking; has dogged look when not excited; no visible imperfection in teeth.
