Wairoa May 9/67 My dear Sir Your letter of the 1st. has just come to hand. I am very glad to think you approve of what I have done in Kopus affairs. I sent Saunders up with a letter to Te Waru and I think it is more than likely he is by this time on the way down, if so it will be all right but if he stays away coupling it with what I have told Mr. Richmond, I shall begin to think it looks however a few days will show the real state of affairs and I shall take the earliest opportunity of giving you every information. As Mr. Andersen the builder is on his way to Port I have told him to get the posts for Kopus grave- at Napier as they are not to be procured here. I am my dear Sir faithfully yours S. Deighton.
