being settled with the late purchases there. I have heard this from several reliable persons whose respectability I cannot doubt. Of course I know nothing about the matter but should think that anything approaching to discontent on the part of the natives of that district at the preasant time is very much to be regretted and should if possible be remedied. Mr Man[e]y is going on busness to Wellington and will no doubt call and see you ad will be able to explain matters to you from that quarter and I hope all will be well.
