Monday 18 Oct., 1858 My dear Sir, I write a line to say that Paki has forwarded a correct account of the meeting on the 7th inst., by this day's post south to Henare for his opinion upon the attitude taken by himself and friends in this matter. I hope you will approve of the distribution of Nga Ture amongst the natives here, and trust I may yet have the pleasure of reporting some favorable results - Hone has been at work, but a great deal remains to be done. Everything is quiet here - Faithfully yours, H. Halse P. S. I wrote to you for Stationery on 15th June last, and received all the contents of the Requisition, except the Salary Abstracts - if you will send me a few I should be obliged, as I have been borrowing for some time past. H. H.
