Hokianga April 21 - 1870. Dear White, I have barely a moment to answer yours of the 9th. as we are just starting to fetch over the Governor. As a matter of course I suppose you will be informed about the sittings of the Courts, but it might be as well for you to write to the Auckland office to put them in mind I shall do so next post. The Claim you mention was with several more dismissed by me at the Court at Waitangi the natives were believe there but did not shew when the Claim was called the northern natives I find are very ignorant in every respect regarding the object and procedure of the Court and consequaatly troublesome. No time is yet fixed for the next sitting. The next Court will be at Ahipara. Yours very truly, F.E. Maning.
