My Dear McLean, I do not like to let a Mail go without writing you a line or two although I have hardly time to do so. In the vessel which takes this, the "Eclair", there is a fine amiable Sprig of Nobility Lord Robert Cecil going, on whom I would recommend you to call and offer your services to. He is seeking information and you can gratify him in that respect I should think very well. There is another gentleman going along with him Mr.Abraham a Company's Claimant going down it is said to see justice done in the purchases you may make for the Claimants at Taranaki. If you allow him to interfere or to bother you in any way I shall be mistaken. I just give you a hint which will be sufficient. We have late news from England and New South Wales which I have not time to tell you of but the passengers by the "Eclair" will let you know all about them. We are getting on as usual very well, having a fine season and good prospects for the farmers. I remain, Yours truly, A. Sinclair.
