Enquiry has been made by Mr. Clarke as to this report, which appears to be false. A man named Wipero was the murderer, and was afterwards killed at Taupo. This occurred before Todd's murder. Since then Ngatiwakane have kept aloof from Waikato, and would not attend the last Kuiti meeting, because ''blood was on the hands of the Waikatos!!''
