COPY. Napier 26th. March 1869 Dear Sir, I send you an official which I am sure will please you. It is what we have talked about at times. I have talked with Mr. McLean, he told me they would go if they could get ammunition and food I at once applied and hence the result. You have now an opportunity of doing something indeed of shewing what you are made of. If you do this well who knows what it may lead to. I have great hopes. Should the gentleman be caught the whole Colony will be delighted, and Wairoa will stand well to the front. I must again impress on you prompt action and get the party as strong as you can but do not have trash. Yours faithfully, C. Lambert. G.B. Worgan Esq. Wairoa may now do something to clear itself of its troubles - Grey will like this. C.L. P.S. I consider this note as more in the light of a letter altho. not addressed as such. G.B.W.
