Hamilton 8th. Jany. 1870 My dear Sir, The bearer the Revd. L. Vinay P.P residing at Rangiaohia is anxious to have an interview with you respecting T. Powers affairs, I am of opinion that neither he or his Wife Rahapa have not been liberally dealt with in the late decision arrived at and I should be pleased to hear that Father Vinay has been able to sho you reasons for some alteration, His House which I induced Rahapa to give up to Mrs. N. Cutfield was a good one and could not be replaced for less than £150. However I am meddling in matters not my concern which I trust you will pardon. I am My dear Sir, Yours very faithfully, William N. Searancke. D. McLean Esq. Auckland.
