My dear Sir You asked me about a Native Run and I think Cox has about cleared the board. But I have since then exchanged one piece of land with the Natives for another whereby a block of some 30,000 acres of land may still be open. I gain good boundaries and exclude people behind me but the piece I throw up is also well bounded by good rivers and I think sheep won't cross them. There will be some trouble in getting this piece but I dare say for £100 bonus you could get it. You might avoid a bonus but your expences would be equivalent or greater while the Natives would be sure to ask something mo from you than another I don't know what the rent would be but Cox certainly will take it if you dont get it. He will be here early next month and only declined it because my arrangement was still pending. It lies thus If you like to pay £100 for this and are prepared to pay ½ a years rent down I think I can get it for you. The £100 is meant as a bonus and to cover nothing but the trouble of arranging this for you, which is more than you may think - and getting alease for you signed by the owners. If you wish to take it through the Court you must do this when necessary yourself. I asked the owners to keep it open for a week or two to oblige me so if you do not write up by next mail to take it I must let it go. The leases cost 10 guineas which in any case you must pay and the services of an interpreter 2 gs a day so you see there is not so very much in it. Only I can't undertake business like this at shearing time for quite nothing, and after shearing a hundred men will want it chiefly small men with flocks they want to put out. I have no idea to give you of the rent or extent. It may be 60,000 acres and was called so. I state 30,000 to be safe - As to the rent somewhere about £100 a year I should guess.
