Mission House, Mokau Feb. 17/46. Monday Noon. Dear Sir, I have not time to write but you will hear all from the postman and Rihia. I have just returned from the Komititanga. Heath is to pass but no one else till Taonuis pleasure is known. It is the Kuri's doings. te Kaka is on his side but Waitara and nearly all the (Mokau) natives are for allowing europeans to go on. I only want to start the postmen and then I will be at them again but I am afraid it will be in vain. With Mrs.S' very kind regards Yours very truly C. H. Schnackenberg.
