Mohaka Sept. 29th 1866 Donald McLean Esq. Dear Sir Some time ago if you remember I spoke to you about my leaseing some land from the natives of Mohaka which you aproved of I have done so and had sheep on the land this ten months. The two chiefs Paul and Henry at my request agreed to have the land surveyed and passed through the court and they employed Mr. Worgan for that Purpose Worgan began to survey the land other natives requested him not to do so as Paul and Henry had no powr to lease that land and after some words on the matter Worgan advised the whole matter in dispute to be refered to you which all partis have agreed to whether the land will be surveyed or not now rests with you I will not go in to the rights of the case as you know all about those matters but as I have been at great expense and my sheep on the land beleive that you will give my intrests your best consistent with the rights of others concearned I am sorry to trouble you with this matter knowing your time tobe fully employed and beg to offer you my humble thanks for past considerations. Yours truly John Sim
