Turanga Poverty Bay Feb. 25th 1851 Sir In the event of your puchasing this district from the natives I have the honor to request that you will under such squatting or leasing regulations as may be promulgated by the Government forward the enclosed application for Four sheep stations for my sons and myself which I named to you when surveying it. viz Maraitaha Kote Kuri including Nicks head and the line or ranges with under land from where where divided by the mountatap and Arai or river by Mr. Coopers and my house running to a certain valley which you passed through and continuing again from the Arai up to a small rivulet including a few small hills with the plain adjoinging to the big river as it called and joins the wood at the back of Mr. Harris's and again over the big river commencing from Mr. Harris's land in Wai wenga hika and a narrow valley on both sides of the river Waipawa or river Y to which stations I should like to have my application as soon as possible recorded, as I consider myself entitled to early consideration in selecting from being a resident settler.
