Napier Sept. 19th, 1859 My dear Sir I forward a Copy of the Letter you sent me from Auckland respecting the land in the Wai nui o mata. The Section I wish to retain is No.22, in lieu of No.80 Paramatta Point, Porirua Harbour, which was thrown up by me many years ago. I trust you reached Wellington safely. You no doubt arrived when the Council was sitting. There does not appear to me to be the least chance of any harmony between the Govt. and the Wakefield party. I am glad I am out of the way of political excitement I am disgusted with the personalities. Believe me Yours faithfully Edw.Catchpool D. McLean, Esq. Chief Land Purchase Comr.
