Rockets, and the lightest shell. I can use them, and with effect. I am an old soldier, used to the use of these arms. I beg to refer you to the Duke of Richmond, and Captain Everard, Castle Dublin; or St. John Branigan Esq. Otago; or Certificates from Officers under whom I have served in the Crimea, India, or China; in the Imperial Army; or Officers in the Colonial Defence. But I preferred to be tried before any confirmation of rank should take place. As to my possession here - I am a farmer, having 100 acres Freehold, on the Ashburton; and this evening have twelve names of men, handy, and willing to follow me; all of which have served.
