Will the Provincial Solicitor be good enough to inform me if there is any law against issuing a license to the H.B.S.B. establishment for the sale of beer and spirits, I am not sure whether the New Munster licensing act is still in force which precludes the issue of a bush license within a distance of three miles from a township, see B. No.7 Session 3 No.21, Clause 2. Colonel Russell has applied for a license chiefly for the sale of beer for the use of the working men on the establishment.
