11 Jany. 1848 Dear MacLean, I was so busy yesterday with signing and finishing letters, that I only glanced at the map Capt. King sent me. Lest the few words that passed between us yesterday should lead you to imagine I was satisfied with the Plan, I write this hasty line to say that in writing officially I shall be obliged to protest against the Reserves in both Blocks, which most materially differ from all the understanding I ever had on the subject. Believe me, faithfully yours, F. D. Bell. D. McLean Esq.
