Wallingford April 29th Dear McLean, I had one or two things I had meant to have written you about but this is the last chance for the English mail and I must defer till next post night. One thing before it is too late. Will you before you send the Council Paper about the Land Regulation to Auckland have a verbal alteration made. As printed a portion of the first clause of the Resolutions reads absurdly. If you look in the eighth line you will see the words ''or shall be, set aside for settlement '' Now the words I have underlined are of course wrong and the copies shd. be corrected by having them struck out. I see our friend Bousfield was amiable as usual last week. I wrote Cooper breaking to him as easily as I could that we could not do what he wanted about the road by his place. I just remember that I have forgotten the Sheep Inspector's Instructions you shall have them without fail by next mail. In haste Yrs. always J. D. Ormond
