My Dear McLean, Oh but I am wearying to see you and there are a great many others particularly some lately come Highlanders who participate in the same feeling. Sir George, the Bishop and all their parties sailed a week ago with great eclat after all the abuse heaped on the Governor for several years. It is the Auckland fashion of shewing attention and respect to Superiors to abuse them first and then to caress them. The Aucklanders have done themselves credit by their conduct lately towards their superiors. I have no news to tell you. We are getting on exceedingly well. There is a great cry for more land, and nobody seems possessed of the buying art here so you had better hasten to the work. Mr.Kemp has been written to requesting to come and assist you. I remain, Yours truly, A. Sinclair. P.S. Come straight to my house. A.S.
