Auckland April 14th 1859 Dear Sir I have put in form and returned to Mr.Parris those accounts which you sent up from Taranaki during my absence, with the exception of the "Presents to Natives" for one year and the advances to the Ikamoana natives, those last two having been referred over by Mr. Sewell to await Mr.Richmond's return, I have also written to Mr. Halse respecting two payments made by you in September 1854 amounting to One hundred and ten pounds: one hundred pounds to Rawiri's relatives and ten pounds to Te Waka at Taranaki; I have been searching through the accounts and I cannot find that you have ever received credit for these two payments so that I believe it will turn out a wholesome reduction of the old Balance - If you will kindly write to Mr.Halse asking him to obtain receipts of, or attestations t o, the payment of these two sums, he will be induced to pay more attention to my letter, as you will probably be able to recall these old transactions to his recollection, by further particulars than I have been able to send him - I enjoyed may trip into the interior very much indeed and returned greatly benefitted in health I suppose that this letter will reach you at Wellington. Believe me, My dear Sir, Yours truly George Friend
