Herald Office, Auckland July 25, 70 My dear Sir, I have been unable to answer your note received some time ago, but you will have seen that I have gone in for your great scheme and it has given me pleasure to give the Govt. what assistance I have had in my power in the matter. I need hardly say I wish you every success in the carrying out of your measures. There is a little matter on which I should be much obliged for your assistance. On the arrival of the Southern steamer the "Cross" have always one day's later telegrams which sometimes contain important news. Might I request your interest in this matter to instruct some one to forward me by telegram what transpires in Wellington after the departure of the boat in time to be sent on by a boat leaving Napier on the one coast or Nelson and Wanganui on the other. I have taken the liberty of asking this because I believe you will have better information as to the times boats are likely to leave Napier, Wanganui or Nelson for Auckland. If you will be good enough to assist me in this matter I shall be greatly obliged to you I remain Yours very truly, W. C. Wilson
