Wallingford Novr. 12th. 1868 Dear McLean, Yours by the mail is just come to hand but too late for reply as the mail is leaving. I will reply on the various matters you raise by the first opportunity. I am very sorry indeed to hear of the provoking cause of the failure of the Wairoa expedition. I cant write more but will by an early day answer your enquiries on different subjects. In haste Yours always J.D. Ormond. The confounded mail-man took your letter on to Porangahau and it is only just come back. Yrs. J.D.O.
