Welln. 13 April /67 My dear Maclean, Will you do what you can to expedite the report we asked you to obtain as to the best line for a telegraph from Napier to Poverty Bay and Opotiki - We are disposed to go on with it, as soon as we get the necessary information. Will you also send me a sketch and short description (similar to Mr. Weber's of 24 Decr.) of the best line from Napier to Castle Point - Advertisements are out for tenders for this work, and particulars promised by the 1st May. This is therefore pressing - I suppose you will have no objection to your Provl. Engineer's Office being appointed as the place in Napier at which particulars can be obtained. Yours truly John Hall
