Auckland 15th. July 1872. Dear McLean, Wangapo, - no answer yet from Mr. Cormack. It does appear strange that they should refuse to give back the logs, when they have three times the quantity of Craig's growing timber left. I am hoping to get the subscribers to the Green Bush fraud prosecution, and to extend their operations to Craig's swindle. Hunt, from Waikato, goes by the next mail to London to try and float the Company; and in the meantime will cease to run boats on the river until the railway is open, unless a subsidy is granted, which has been applied for. It is too bad to run boats losing money, running against coaches subsidised by the Government Believe me Yours faithfully (Signed) J. Macfarlane. To:- Honourable D. McLean.
