Govt. House, August 17th 1864 My dear Maclean, I give this note to Mr. Court a most respectable settler from the Cape of Good Hope. He is most highly esteemed there, as an enterprising and good man in every way. He is altogether as you will find a very nice fellow, and is the forerunner of many people who are likely to come from the Cape to New Zealand. He is now travelling to determine in which settlement he will locate himself - and I have told him you will give him information and introductions to people which will enable him to see the Country. All is going on well here. truly yours, G. Grey
