13th March 1861 My dear Sir, I arrived here yesterday and today went to see Te Katipa who is nearly as bad as he can be, he may last two or three days longer but I doubt it. There were no strangers present but about 40 of the Ngatimaru arrived immediately after I had left him Aihepene is as expected tomorrow or the day after, he will be accompanied by a large party of the Waikatos to have a last look of Te Katipa, I shall remain here to see him and to make all arrangements for the completion of the purchases here, I do not think this will take me very long and shall be glad if there is anything I can do here or in the neighbourhood, on the coast or up the river without interfering with the duties of others, as a state of inaction does not at all agree with me and am very truly your's Will N.
