The invention lies in the construction of slabs, plates, or the like with reinforced ribs formed of discrete materials on one or both sides thereof and disposed transversely to each other, which ribs form a coffering. The slabs, plates, or the like are formed with depending ribs round their four edges, and with or without intermediate ribs, forming square or. rectangular inverted shallow boxer, or depressions on the under side thereof.
