Kokako Fundraising Event in London

A London-based New Zealander is raising funds for the kokako recovery programme with a special evening on August 9. The ‘glamour event at nearly $200 a ticket will be held at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre in Barnes, London. A Department of Conservation officer involved in the original restoration work at Mapara in the King Country, Phil Bradfield, will be flown to London to give an audio-visual presentation about the bird. An auction of New Zealand artworks will follow a light buffet supper and guest speaker. Artworks for the auction have been donated by Janet Marshall of Motueka and Rae and Awanui Hamon of Whangamata. A target of 170 ticket sales has been set: contact Patrick Battersby, email patrick@daviesbattersby.com
